Maritza Gamboa
ILWCC Treasurer
Maritza Gamboa is a Senior Sales Executive at Triune Health Group, where she has been a trusted partner to clients since 2015. With more than 15 years of experience in healthcare sales, Maritza brings deep expertise in diagnostic imaging, IMEs, and the workers’ compensation space, along with strong relationships across the Chicagoland physician community.
She holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After a brief start in her field of study—and an unexpected detour through culinary school—Maritza discovered her true passion lies in building relationships and helping people. That realization led her to the workers’ compensation industry, where she continues to thrive.
Outside of work, Maritza enjoys staying active at Orangetheory Fitness, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Eric, and their three sons.
Abbi Brock
ILWCC Committee Member
Abbi Brock is a dedicated Workers’ Compensation Resolution Specialist with nearly 14 years of experience managing complex claims with precision, empathy, and integrity. Known for a thorough understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations, Abbi specializes in investigating claims, coordinating with medical providers, and working collaboratively with employers and injured workers to ensure timely and fair resolutions.
With a strong background in risk assessment and case management, Abbi excels in reducing claim costs while maintaining a high standard of claimant care. Her expertise includes state-specific compliance, return-to-work programs, and accurate reserve setting. By leveraging her expertise, she collaborates with various teams to implement effective strategies that streamline processes and improve service delivery.
Passionate about building trust and transparency in every claim, Abbi brings a calm, solution-focused approach to what are often high-stress situations. Whether handling a routine case or navigating a complex injury claim, Abbi is committed to delivering results that align with both business goals and the needs of injured workers. Her passion for the field and exceptional problem-solving skills have made her a valuable asset to Amerisure.
Donna Hanetho
ILWCC Secretary
Donna Hanetho is a dynamic healthcare sales leader with a strong clinical foundation in Athletic Training. She began her career delivering hands-on patient care, then transitioned into sales in 2009 bringing clinical insight, credibility, and perspective that continue to fuel her success.
Since moving into sales, Donna has specialized in the workers’ compensation space and currently represents Doctors of Physical Therapy. She has been instrumental in driving substantial client growth by building trusted, long-term relationships rooted in responsiveness, deep industry knowledge, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach.
Her strengths include cultivating high-impact partnerships, communicating with clarity and purpose, and designing process improvements that strengthen client retention and accelerate direct referrals. Known for her strategic mindset and team-first leadership style, Donna navigates complex challenges with confidence while consistently delivering value to her partners.
At her core, Donna is a relationship-builder who believes progress starts with trust. She is energized by challenges, committed to positive collaboration, and focused on creating meaningful, lasting partnerships that move organizations forward.
Rick Cyr
ILWCC Executive Director
Rick is a collaborative, results-driven national sales and business development leader with more than ten years of sales leadership experience and over three decades of deep insurance industry and investigative knowledge. He specializes in building high-value client relationships, driving national growth strategies, and delivering practical solutions that help organizations significantly reduce costs.
Rick is known for his ability to connect people, identify opportunities, and turn complex challenges into actionable outcomes that create long-term value for clients and partners.
Kendra Kail
ILWCC President
Kendra Kail is a National Account Executive for Integrity Medicolegal, a Medlogix Company. She is a seasoned IME professional with over 20 years of industry experience. She has the unique ability of understanding the subtle differences between her clients and putting that understanding to work providing customized solutions for every level of her customer base. Kendra takes pride in the relationships she has built over the last two decades and holds herself accountable for the service she provides.
Kendra is proud to be the President and founding Member of the Illinois Work Comp Connect, as she is passionate about giving back to the industry. She has served on WIWC Forum committee and the board for the Milwaukee Insurance Adjusters Association.
Outside of work, Kendra enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and three dogs, Charlie, Sadie and Bella.
William O Brien
ILWCC Vice President
Bill earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications and a Spanish minor from Eastern Illinois University. While attending EIU, he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and a scholarship athlete on the men's swim team. After college, Bill attended Thomas M. Cooley (now Cooley Law School), graduating in 2005. Bill earned a Federal Externship with Honorable George W. Lindberg of the United States District Court of the Northern District of Illinois then as a “711” attorney with the DuPage County States Attorney. He is admitted to practice with the Illinois State Bar and the Federal Court and began his legal career in Plaintiff's practice in Chicago in 2006. The following year he joined Hennessy & Roach where he has focused his practice on the defense of workers' compensation claims in the State of Illinois.
